Matching a Router Lift to a Kreg Router Table

Match a lift to the opening and support system of your exact Kreg table. PRS5000 motor compatibility is a separate check.

When choosing a lift for a Kreg table, start with the tabletop model and its insert support system. The question is which plate fits your table. It is separate from asking which motor fits a Kreg lift.

The PRS5000 offers a documented route for matching a lift to an existing router through Kreg's compatibility chart. Start with that chart before choosing a motor or planning the table opening.

Use the PRS5000 dimensions as a reference

Kreg specifies a 9¼ × 11¾ × ⅜-inch hard-anodized aluminum plate for the PRS5000 Precision Router Lift. That provides a clear reference for comparing the product with your tabletop's documentation.

Do not turn that reference into a claim that every Kreg-branded table or compact routing accessory uses the same opening. Identify the exact table, particularly if it was bought used, assembled from separate components or fitted with a replacement top. The name on the stand may not identify the current tabletop.

Examine how the existing plate is supported

With power disconnected and the equipment handled according to its instructions, inspect the insert arrangement. Establish whether the plate rests on a ledge or designated support hardware, how it is leveled and how it is retained. Record the recess dimensions and plate thickness before comparing replacements.

A plate with matching length and width may still present a problem with corner shape, fasteners or the available leveling range. The plate measurement guide explains why those details matter.

Considering another lift brand

The standard imperial INCRA Mast-R-Lift II also has published plate dimensions of 9¼ × 11¾ × ⅜ inches. Equal nominal dimensions make it a candidate for investigation, not an automatic fit confirmation for every Kreg top.

Ask the lift manufacturer about the complete table model and support arrangement. INCRA notes that tables lacking a rabbeted ledge may require its CleanSweep Table Adapter, illustrating why support design remains important even when the outside dimensions look familiar.

Leave room underneath

Compare the proposed carriage and motor location with rails, braces, dust collection and any cabinet enclosure. The lift must move through its intended range without interfering with those parts. You also need access to the router controls and whichever adjustment or locking points the selected design uses.

Our clearance guide helps organize that inspection. It is easier to resolve a space conflict before the plate and motor are installed.

Finish with the motor chart

Once the table interface is confirmed, check your exact motor against the selected lift's documentation. For the PRS5000, use the Kreg compatibility chart guide. A correct tabletop fit cannot compensate for an unsupported motor clamp, just as a supported motor cannot make an unsuitable plate seat properly. Keeping those decisions separate makes the final combination easier to verify.

The PRS4038 is another Kreg insert-plate configuration and should be selected by its exact mounting specification. Similar appearance to PRS4036 is not enough to establish the same router fit.
