Where powered movement could help
Powered adjustment may be worth investigating if cranking is physically awkward, if reaching the crank position is difficult, or if repeated substantial height changes are a major part of your routine. Consider the location and usability of the supplied controls rather than assuming “automatic” means easier in every enclosure.
A manual lift may be entirely sufficient when the crank is accessible and adjustments are occasional. It also avoids adding a separate powered positioning system and its associated controls to the table. That simplicity has value when it already meets the need.
The mounting checks stay the same

Consider cable routing and access to the router's own controls. Movement throughout the permitted range must not trap cables or bring the motor into surrounding cabinet parts. Follow the model's instructions for adjustment, locking and operation.
Do not improvise powered adjustment on a manual lift
A drill fitted to a crank connection is not equivalent to a designed motorized mechanism. The JessEm Mast-R-Lift II manual specifically prohibits using a cordless drill to power the carriage because of premature thread wear. Follow the restrictions for your particular model.
