The clamp pattern comes before the motor

Kreg’s North American PRS5000 manual includes a table of numbered clamp-block locations. For example, it groups Bosch 1617/1618 and DeWalt 610/616/618 under one pattern, while the Porter-Cable 7518 uses another. Use that table and its diagrams for the exact motor rather than centering the blocks by eye.

This is an identification step, not an invitation to substitute a similar-looking router. Check the motor’s label, especially when it came in a multi-base kit. Understand the support arrangement

The manual permits a correctly sized rabbeted opening or a straight-sided opening equipped with Kreg insert plate levelers. The lift’s outside dimensions alone do not describe either support arrangement. Confirm the table model and its installation requirements before removing an existing plate.

Disconnect the router from power before mounting. The manual’s motor-seating sequence uses the supplied large insert ring as a reference and specifies a small clearance before the clamp is secured. Follow the original diagram for that sequence rather than treating the ring as a permanent motor support. Keep the controls reachable in the final orientation.

Learn which socket does what

The height-adjustment socket and the LOCK socket are distinct. Moving the crank between them is part of operating this lift; do not force the height mechanism against a locked carriage. After adjustment, secure the lock as directed. The indexing dial supplies a reference, not confirmation that all hardware is tight.

Kreg also describes a special orientation for its Beaded Face-Frame System because that accessory can cover the adjustment mechanisms.
