JessEm lists the Porter-Cable 7518 for its Mast-R-Lift II. The standard imperial INCRA Mast-R-Lift II also names the 7518, as does SpeTool's P01002 page.
For the 690 and 890, JessEm lists both on the Mast-R-Lift II and Rout-R-Lift 3.5XT pages, while O'SKOOL lists both for the RTS07. SpeTool specifically uses 690LR in the P01002 list. These are exact published entries, not a reason to collapse all Porter-Cable motors into one size group.
In particular, the 3.5XT's support for 690 and 890 does not establish support for 7518. Use the model-specific list rather than reasoning from the shared brand.
Identify what you actually own
Read the label on the motor, not only the case or a handwritten note from a previous owner. Photograph the designation and any suffix. If the original base has been removed or the assembly came with a used lift, establish both identities independently.

Assess condition before investing around it
A new lift will not repair a damaged cord, worn collet, unreliable control or motor fault. Parts availability also belongs in the decision. Verify the replacement components you actually need rather than assuming a familiar model name guarantees current stock. A lift and table investment can outlast the particular motor that first goes into them.
Check the complete assembly cost
Ask which clamp position or approved adapter the exact pairing requires and whether those parts are included. Then assess plate fit, space beneath the table and access to the router's controls. For those geometric checks, use plate dimensions and support.
If a legacy motor needs substantial repair or missing accessories, compare that total with a supported lift-and-motor package. Keeping serviceable equipment can be sensible; building an entire workstation around an unidentified or faulty motor is a different proposition. The compatibility list helps with fit, but the router's actual condition should determine whether you proceed.
